I decided to clean the pennies that I had recovered recently. When the process was done, to my surprise, I found that one of the pennies was a 1953 D WHEATIE. Not sure where it came from. You never know what is underneath that gunk until you clean it. You have to be careful, though. If you recover a rare coin cleaning, it could very well affect the coin's value.
