Ho, Ho, Ho. Yesterday I went to an old favorite, the community center in Kingsland and it did not disappoint. Here I recovered 3 quarters, 7 dimes, 1 nickel, 22 pennies, a costume ring(?), a costume child's earring, and something that appears to be a large caliber rimfire shell casing. The "shell casing" has two indentations, one on the opposite side from the other. It would suggest that this casing is a .41 or .44 short rimfire shell and was fired from a gun with a double strike firing pin. Perhaps this was a blank shell used in a mock shootout. If it was a live round loaded with a bullet it is very old because the shell has no headstamp that I can find. A mystery.
