Meeting Minutes for December 2025
HIGHLAND LAKES METAL DETECTING CLUB

Previous minutes approved by motion made by Deb Ashworth and 2nd by Nyssa H.
Treasurer report presented by Gary Goolsby approved with motion from Deb Ashworth and 2nd by Nyssa H. Currently bank account has $496.17 with $1300 spent on raffle prizes, $100 spent on scoop for raffle prize. Raffle proceeds today will go toward 2026 raffles.
We brought in 1 new member at the meeting, Kenny Hare, welcome Kenny, looking forward to seeing you at the meetings.
Nyssa H became board president and James D. will be vice president. Thank you both for stepping up for these positions. We still need a treasurer, please consider stepping up for this spot and thanks to Susan Fuqua for volunteering to be back up secretary when Peggy is absent. We are all here to help each other and keep our club moving forward. Thank you.
Remember to keep bringing raffle prizes and purchasing raffle tickets for our monthly meeting, working toward the 2026 big raffle next December.
Please remember to get 2026 dues paid. Dues are $15.00 per member. This includes membership to TAMDC which helps our club in various ways.
TAMDC meeting April 25th – 26th in Temple. Volunteers to handle a booth would be a good way to represent our club. Get with Nyssa if you desire to do this. Can find the details & registration info. for the hunt on our website or TAMDC website.
Upcoming Hunts
If interested in Gypsy Jewels hunt, it will be in Edna, Tx, Feb. 20-21. Details on Gypsy Jewels website or can get with Tom for more info.
Best Finds contest completed.
Best coin: Kevin F. for an old quarter,
Best jewelry: Debbie Y. for a gold ring
Best relic: Kevin F. for an old trap found in park.
Keep hunting and if anyone knows of some good places to set up a hunt, get with Kevin, Dan or Nyssa.
The much expected “December raffle”, was completed with lots of nice items won. Susan won the Mine Lab 900! Good treasure hunting to you, Susan! Thanks to all who provided food for the pot luck, it was deliciously devoured!
At this time we want to say Thank You to our past board members and our new board members and all our members for all you do. Also a special thanks to Deb for heading up the raffles and to Karen and Betty for their help. Thank you to our hunt masters, Dan Lynch and Kevin Fuqua. Thanks to Susan & Kevin for heading up the finds contest. This has been a fun year and our club just keeps moving forward thanks to everyone’s participation.
Our future meetings will still be in the Kingsland Library at 10:00 on the first Saturday of the month except for the May meeting which will be the 2nd Saturday, May 9th.
