Previous minutes approved by motion made by James and 2nd by Kevin, motion passed.
Treasury report made by James in Gary’s absence approved by motion made by Gary B., and 2nd by Kevin, motion passed.
Hunt Buddy List is still going around, several have signed up. Good way to find more places to hunt & hunting with a buddy is always more fun then alone.
Last month’s hunt went well, in spite of weather. Recovery of lost ring still going on.
Old Business: Still need a treasurer to take Gary Goolsby’s spot. Still need a secretary to alternate with Susan if needed. Lots of upcoming hunts being planned and needing volunteers in different areas, get with Kevin, or Nyssa. Planning a easter egg hunt at Hays Park in Burnet on April 4th, get with Kevin or Nyssa on how you can help. Will be food, silent auction, a kids metal detector for grand prize, asking each person to bring at least 1 item for the silent auction, need volunteers to help kids with metal detecting, need people to cook hot dogs. There will be a meeting at 9 at the park before the actual event, to get things set up. Food will be served at 11:30 and hunt will start at noon. Cost is $5 per child, lunch included. Ages will be divided into groups, 8 & under, 9 and up, will have to have helpers with both of these age groups. James will do flyers, Karen will do some advertising. A beach hunt coming up March 21-29, at port Aransas, for details get with Nyssa. Tom will be doing lessons on beach detecting while there. More details to come. February 21-23 Gypsy Jewel Hunt in Edna, Tx. There is also a 44th annual hunt coming up in Galveston, Tx. And the T.A.M.D.C hunt in Temple coming in April, it would be nice for our club to do a booth there, if interested in manning the booth, get with Nyssa. First Annual Gold & Treasure Fest coming to Llano on May 2nd, more info on website or get with Earl.
New Business: Be sure to turn your found pull tabs into the “pull tab prospector”, win a patch for 100 tabs, the tabs will be turned into the Ronald McDonald House. Get with Denise on info. A motion was made to use nickles instead of silver dimes for prizes due to cost. Motion passed.
Tom did a demo and spoke on some new headphones coming out and James & Nyssa did a nice, informative program on Weather for Metal Detectorists. Finds contest done and raffles done. Meeting adjourned. See you at the next meeting.
