Old Business: April club meeting is Saturday, April 5th, at Kingsland Library as usual. May Club meeting and Hunt will be May 3rd at Dan Lynch’s property, be sure you are registered for our club hunt, so the proper amount of coins can be ordered, keep up with details on our club website. The Brenham TAMDC show is May 17th thru the 18th with the hunts being on Sunday, the 18th. All the details are coming together for the tables and vendors. There will be coins, jewelry, history, metal detectors and much more. Come and enjoy and learn!
New Business: Board needed and asked for help in some areas of our club business. Thank you to Kevin Fuqua for stepping up and becoming the Hunts Coordinator and to Dan Lynch for offering his assistance as needed to help with this as well. Also a big thank you to Susan Fuqua for volunteering to take over the monthly“Finds” contest. Once again we want to thank Karen for offering at the last meeting, to take on advertising. We appreciate John Hollaway for taking photos of our meeting to put in the Highland Lakes Weekly publication. The club can always use more help, support and new ideas to make our meetings even more interesting. We also want to thank Kevin and Susan for bringing donuts to share. They are always delicious!
Our speaker was W.C. Jameson, author of so many wonderful books of treasure hunting. He introduced his newest book, “Making Your Living with a Metal Detector”, full of all kinds of good info. He had a nice and informative presentation on the ways of actually making a living with metal detectors. Thank you W.C., our club always enjoys your presentations. Mr. Jameson will be at the Brenham show and will have more of his books there as well.
In the “Finds” contest, Kevin got the best coin, Debbie got the best jewelry and Peggy got the best relic. Was fun, all should try to participate and bring your special finds and possibly win a coin! Raffles were done and lots of cool stuff raffled off. Thanks to those ladies too for doing such a good job on that and remember if you did not win, you get another chance at the end of the year for our special prizes offered at the December meeting.
