Thank you to Dan Lynch for setting up our Guest Speaker, Vaughn Hamilton, who had a very informative lecture on Outdoor Safety and Emergency Situations. He went over various emergency treatments of several scenarios such as snake bites, cuts, sprains, breaks, falls & head injuries, seizures, insect bites & stings including some coastal bites & stings from jellyfish and sting rays, nosebleeds, diabetic seizures and info. on anaphylaxis symptoms, shock and EpiPen usage. Very useful and informative program, if you missed it, Mr. Vaughn does do some public First Aid and CPR classes at the Marble Falls EMS, some upcoming dates are October 29th at 5:30 and Nov. 25th at 5:30. Not sure if there is a charge, you can call at 830-798-3885 for more info and location.
We also want to thank Mr. Vaughn for allowing our club to do a hunt on his property as one of our outings, which went well.
NEW BUSINESS: Robert made a motion for our club to do a member’s only seeded hunt activity, Dan 2nd it, motion passed. Committee was formed to follow up with this, be watching for further details. Dan did offer use of his property for this event. A new area to hunt was presented by one of our members, in Burnet at a certain park, this is being checked into for the possibility.
OLD BUSINESS: Thank you to Dan for providing doughnuts for this meeting, they were delicious and devoured! If anyone feels the urge to bring something simple like that to any of the meetings, feel free to do so, but not a necessity. Remember the upcoming Central Texas Treasure Club Hunt in Brownwood, Oct.12th. There may still be time to register online. Was brought up that some memberships have yet to be recorded on the website, Gary Goolsby will see it gets done. Remember to pay this year’s membership dues if you have not yet done so, it can be done online at our website as well. More T-shirts are now available. Be thinking of possible positions you might be interested in, to step up and fill at our upcoming Board Officer elections in December.
Our next meeting date will be Nov. 2nd at the Burnet Library, side room, same time as usual, 10 am. Don’t forget our highly anticipated Dec. meeting, big raffles, dinner and fun on Dec. 7th at Kingsland Library, 10 am. More details will be coming out on what foods to bring to help us enjoy the festivities.
