Thank you to Kevin & Susan for doughnuts! And thankyou to Karen for getting some advertising out on the club in one of the local papers.
Be thinking of stepping up to replace several of our board members that are stepping down. Our club is going places, lets keep it growing and going.
A motion was made by Dan and 2nd by Susan to move November meeting to the second Saturday of November, the 8th, it will be able to be in our same meeting room at the Kingsland library. The change was approved by members and is because of Gypsy’s birthday hunt and activities going on in Pittsburgh, Tx that 1st weekend, several mentioned they were planning on attending that event.
Our December “end of year” meeting will be a pot luck, and the big raffle. Karen will have a sign up sheet at the next meeting as to what type of food or dessert you are able to bring, so we end up with a good variety of goodies, including main dishes, salads & desserts. If you have some suggestions for some possible “end of year” raffle prizes, please send those to our HLMD.com site.
A September hunt on the 20th at a historical property outside of Llano that was part of the Texas land grant, settled in the mid 1800’s, but had Indians on it before that. This could be a very interesting hunt with the possibility of finding Indian and settler artifacts. More info. coming on our site for that sign-up. Also there is a hunt set up for October 11th, on a property in Llano. Searching for possible buried jars full of coins. Sign up will be at 8:30, hunt begins at 9:00 and should end around 11:30. Finds are to be split with the owner of the property. What fun, an actual “treasure” hunt! Thank you to our hunt coordinators, Dan & Kevin.
Kevin had a good demo on “do-it-yourself’ cleaning coins, using a tumbler & handy items that can be found around the house. James & Nyssa did a slide show of another way of cleaning coins using a bought kit. Both presentations were informative and interesting.
There were some interesting finds in our finds contest and some good raffle prizes awarded in the raffle.
Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted
