Old Business: The Christmas gathering was enjoyed by all that attended and some great raffle prizes were awarded. Keep buying raffle tickets and get the chance to win next year’s great end of the year prizes. Remember if you would like to donate any items for the monthly raffle, just let Tom & Deb know, all items are greatly appreciated. Be sure to pay your 2025 dues, $15.00, five dollars goes to TAMDC membership which helps support our club in various ways.
New Business: Details still being worked on for a closed member hunt, 100% payback, working with some vendors on donating some prize items. Tom will provide some hunt training info. before the hunt, this will be helpful as well with future hunts. Volunteers to help in various ways would be appreciated. Checking into speakers for some of our monthly meetings, some topics to discuss suggestions were how to clean & sell found treasures such as coins & jewelry. Possibly inviting some factory reps. to speak about various equipment and offer some demos. We need to figure on ways to compensate the speakers that must travel for overnite stays and food. Better advertising for our meetings was discussed, Karen will check into more ways to advertise. One simple way to advertise our club is to wear the club shirt in public, it is always surprising who will notice and have questions. Club shirts can still be obtained through Gary Goolsby. Scott suggested we offer a Lost & Found service in our area, offering to help find various lost items as well as offering clean up of various parks & public locations. A hunt committee would be nice but volunteers are needed for that to get started and to keep it going. All our info. and more can be found on our website, which is regularly maintained by Tom. If you don’t have our website info or are not receiving info., get with Tom or Earl.
Thanks to Larry Vickers, President of TAMDC for being our speaker this month. Speaking about the upcoming Brenham Hunt on March 14th-16th. Had info for booths and hunt and various future hunts. There will be seminars and lots to look at while at the Brenham hunt. Thank you to Keving & Susan for offering to work our club booth, please try to help them out by volunteering some booth time as well. Larry is working on updating TAMDC website events, benefits and member rewards. He has his website larryvickers.net if any questions for him. He gave info on how to hunt quicker in the bigger hunts and showed us a pouch he made for collecting his digs and moving on. These pouches would not be hard to make using “hardware cloth” from local hardware stores in the gardening area and putting onto a belt of some sort, attached to your waist. Tom gave a brief explanation on starting a “best find” display at our monthly meetings and a small prized being given. Any more questions on that, get with Tom.
Raffles done and motion made to adjourn by Tom and 2nd by Larry, motion carried, meeting adjourned.
See you at our February meeting.
Respectfully Submitted
